Founded in 2012, 1divided Films (pronounced Undivided) is a young independent French film production company.
1divided films is committed to developing films that enhance the beauty of the human fight whether it be social, moral or physical. 1divided Films defends films and artists that aspire to convey a message, invite the viewer to reflect and have a different way to look at our societies.
“As filmmakers it is our responsibility to convey the truth of who we are while embracing our differences. Not to show what brings us apart, but rather to reveal what is common to the human condition”.
Since its creation, in just 5 years, our company has produced A Deported Life a short film (25 minutes) directed by Marie-Hélène Roux starring Marie Bunel, Elsa Lunghini and Françoise Bertin, and a medium-length film of 42 minutes entitled Shortage Of Children with Marie Bunel, Vincent Winterhalter and Louzolo Mahonga-Morillon. Shortage of Children is the first fiction inspired by true historical events that took place in early 60’s commonly called “The Reunion of the Creuse.” The film was supported by The Deputy of Reunion Island and received outstanding theatrical release on May 20, 2015, despite his short format. Funded with the support of the CNC and the Réunion, Shortage of Children has just been bought by France Télévisions and will air current 2016. Shortage of Children was selected in fifty festivals, won 4 Best Foreign Film Awards in the United States and screenings in schools are currently organized in metropolitan France and overseas.
In 2016, 1divided Films completed its first feature film, Links of Life, an English-
language road movie, shot in Utah starring Marie Bunel, René Heger and Catherine Samie. The film is represented by Picture Tree International.
1divided Films has just acquired the rights of the book PANZI by Dr Denis Mukwege (nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize) and Guy-Bernard Cadière, the world’s leading activists for women who have been raped and mutilated in the Democratic Republic of Congo – a country in which women’s bodies have become a weapon of war.
